Comparisons and Studies on Classified Word Groups in Chinese and English vol.1 (Chinese ed.)

Among all the components of language, words and phrases reflect the ethnic and cultural characteristics most. Thus, the teaching of vocabulary is becoming increasingly the focus of second language education. This book comprehensively uses the theories of modern vocabulary, cognitive linguistics and cultural linguistics and selects the most typical word groups in Chinese and English to compare and study.
There are five chapters altogether in this book. Except the introduction, it compares the color words, antonym of adjectives, ¡°speech-related¡± words and animal vocabulary in Chinese and English. The author also makes a detailed discussion in each chapter in terms of word formation, semantics, grammar, pragmatics, cognition, culture and strategies in TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language).
