Zhao Chengwei is currently the art editor of China Drama Publishing House. He loved painting since he was a child, and began to study painting with his father Zhao Huachuan since the age of ten, copying extensively the works of famous artists of the past dynasties. He studied under Teng Zaichuan and Huang Jun successively. In 1992, under the careful guidance of the famous red scholar Zhou Ruchang, he engaged in the research and creation of Qingzhuang 'A Dream of Red Mansions'.
