The Belt and Road Initiative

'Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China（CPC），General Secretary Xi Jinping's proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative（BRI）has won a warm welcome from the international community，especially from countries along the routes. One of China's key measures in pursuing all-round opening up in the new era，the ini-tiative serves as an important platform for building a global community of shared future，and providing the world with a solution for common prosperity and development based on Eastern wisdom. Expounding on the guiding principles，rich content，goals，and methods behind the irutiative，General Secretary Xi has pointed out the direction for further development，and mapped out a bright future for China. To help read-ers understand his thoughts on the Belt and Road Initiative and pro-mote international cooperation，the Research Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee and the Office of the Leading Group for the Belt and Road Initiative have jointly compiled The Belt and Road Inztiative. This book contains more than 40 speeches and excerpts on the Belt and Road Initiative delivered by Xi between September 2013 and July 2018.'
