2005 Evaluation Report on China's Reform

This book is the first analysis and evaluation report on China's reform for a single year since the country adopted its reform policy 26 years ago. With striking reforms in macro control as the motif, this report reviews the reform steps taken, in rural areas in particular, regarding enterprises, finances, construction of the market system, social restructuring, and government transformation in the year 2004, sums up these experiences from the point of view of the successes and failures of reform, and puts forward related proposals. The report presents independent, objective, and realistic arguments, and may serve as reference material for the concerned Chinese government departments in their decision-making, as well as an informative handbook for people who are concerned about China's reform process.
