An Illustrated Guide to Chinese Folk Customs: Luxinan

On the subject of folk customs in traditional Chinese culture, this book carries a systematic research and record of local folk customs in Luxinan (southwestern Shandong). It combines both the text and rich illustrations about folk customs, based on the study of regional culture, to explore deep meanings and daily practices of local people's lives within the cultural-geographical region. It aims to preserve the legacy of Chinese folk customs and help revitalize Chinese cultural heritage. The book consists of six parts that respectively introduce the historical background of local customs, and customs regarding agriculture, commerce, daily life, and the importance of time and family.
