An Introduction to Chinese Culture for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages is based on the characteristics of international Chinese language teaching, and selects the general knowledge of Chinese culture that teachers of Chinese should know, including 14 aspects of Chinese history, Chinese geography, Chinese philosophy, Chinese religion, social system of ancient China, Chinese literature, Chinese art, Chinese crafts, Chinese architecture and gardens, Chinese folklore, Chinese education and the imperial examination system, and so on. Teachers of Chinese can give corresponding explanation in combination with Chinese cultural knowledge in language teaching, thus achieving better teaching results.
Du Daoming, a professor and doctor supervisor at the Chinese Culture Research Institute of Beijing Language and Culture University, serves as a director of the Chinese Association of Quyuan and a director of the Association for Yan Huang Culture of China, etc. He is mainly engaged in research on literary aesthetics, classical literature and Chinese culture. Professor Du has been invited to give lectures at the Department of Sinology of the University of Zurich, Switzerland, the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador, and the Matsuyama University, Japan. He has published many monographs, including Taoism and Liberation, The Road to Harmony: China’s Harmonious Culture and Aesthetics, An Examination of Aesthetic Culture in Ancient China, and An Introduction to the Culture of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and co-authored Introduction and Comment on Figures in Wen Xin Diao Long and Appreciation and Analysis of Jiang Kui’s Poetry. Meanwhile, he has published more than 70 academic papers in core journals at home and abroad.
《国际中文教师中华文化通识》根据国际中文教学的特点,选取了国际中文教师所应了解的中华文化常识,包括中国历史、中国地理、中国哲学、中国宗教、中国古代社会制度、中国文学、中国艺术、中国工艺、中国建筑与园林、中国民情与民俗、中国教育与科举制度等14个方面的内容。国际中文教师可以在语言教学时结合中华文化常识加以解释,从而取得更好的教学效果。
杜道明,北京语言大学中华文化研究院教授、博士生导师,兼任中国屈原学会理事、中华炎黄文化研究会理事等,主要从事文艺美学、古典文学和中国文化方面的研究。曾应邀在瑞士苏黎世大学汉学系、厄瓜多尔基多圣弗朗西斯科大学和日本松山大学讲学。出版专著《道家与解脱》《通向和谐之路:中国的和谐文化与和谐美学》《中国古代审美文化考论》《汉语作为第二语言教学文化概说》等。合著有《文心雕龙论作家作品》《姜夔诗词赏析集》等。在国内外核心期刊发表学术论文70余篇。
