This Open University multi media pack contains a book, a practice book and two audio CDs. Topics covered in this material include talking about the weather, travelling to places and giving directions, doing your shopping, daily routines, telling the time, changing money, transport and holidays. The book provides the core learning material and presents new vocabulary, grammar, language points and activities to help improve your listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in Mandarin Chinese. In this book pinyin is used less frequently and the headings are in Chinese characters instead of English. The Practice book is designed to develop your reading and writing skills and introduce you to the techniques of writing Mandarin Chinese characters and provide exercises for you to put your learning into practice.
