Chongqing - The Famous City in the Second World War: Photo Annals of Vanishing Sceneries

The sceneries in the photos are no more in existence. Located in an important communications hub, Chongqing, a peninsula surrounded by rivers, is the Mesopotamia in China's modern history. The city was called China's Jerusalem during the Anti-Japanese War. As one of the world famous cities like Washington D.C, London and Moscow in the Second World War, Chongqing proved its importance in the Far East during the war. A traveler with a pious heart of disciple, recorded the vanishing sceneries of the city with his photos taken in 10 years' time during the period of 1994-2003.
