The former premier Zhou Enlai has studied in Tianjin Nankai Middle School between 1913 and 1917. During this period, he finished 52 homework compositions and 59 extracurricular compositions. Before he went abroad to Europe in October, 1920, Zhou Enlai banded all his compositions together into one volume by himself and wrote ''Nankai Middle School Compositions'' on the cover especially. This book selects 39 compositions and demonstrated the talents of Zhou Enlai, one of the cofounders of the new republic of China.
