Elementary Spoken Chinese vol.1

This set of text books including two volumes is to be used by the very beginners. The topics selected cover what the foreign students are concerned about and interested in. The lauguage used is standardized. The vocabulary is mainly the first degree words selected from the Syllabus of Chinese Words and Characters.
To follow the principle of language learning and the pedagogy of elementary spoken Chinese with a reference of the efficient teaching practices, the set of books have adopted the following two principles: 1) Chinging the traditional emphasis on words and their meanings to that on the sentences and their uses. 2) training students how to express themselves by uniting sentences to paragraphs when they begin learning the common patterns and simple dialogues.
