General Information on Chinese Culture

The Series on Standards for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages is a series of textbooks designed for CFL teachers who are taking training courses and those who are going to take the TCFL eligibility exam. Compiled by Professor Liu Xun and Professor Cui Yonghua based on the Standards for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, this series, with the books in it corresponding to the sections of the “Standards”, provides readers with systematic knowledge about the “standards” and help them acquire the relevant knowledge and professional skills. It can be used not only as a textbook by teachers in training and tutoring courses or in self-teaching, but also as a reference book by candidates for the Chinese teaching eligibility exam. The whole series includes 10 books altogether, and this book is one of them.
This book corresponds to the part of Chinese culture in “Culture and Communication”, i.e., the third standard in the second section of the “Standards”, including chapters such as “History of China”, 'Major Philosophic Ideas and Religious Culture in China”, 'Chinese Literature and Art” and “Chinese Folk Culture”.
