The war broke out and 19-year-old Paul and his classmates were sent to the battlefield. On the front lines, all you can see is blood, stumps, and death. The war destroyed everything, and life stopped on the battlefield. He longed for emotions, life, family, and redemption, but he couldn't find a direction. In October 1918, Paul was killed in action. That day, the entire front line was silent, and only one sentence was written in the military newspaper: No war on the Western Front.
Erich Maria Remak (1898-1970), formerly known as Erich Paul Remak, volunteered to participate in the First World War in 1916, and moved to the Western Front in 1917. He recorded the experiences of himself and other soldiers on the battlefield, and wrote these experiences into the novel 'No War on the Western Front' in 1928, ten years after the end of the First World War. In 1929, 'No War on the Western Front' caused a sensation as soon as it was published and was quickly translated into more than 20 languages. So far, global sales have exceeded 30 million copies. In this book, Remark uses objective and stern language to openly and unrelentingly restore the real battlefield. From the perspective of the ordinary soldier 'Paul', the ravages and even destruction of war on people are nakedly presented. Remarck was hailed as 'a highly respected anti-war writer in the 20th century' for this book, and was nominated for 'the Nobel Peace Prize' for this book.
