This audiovisual reading course book, first of a two volumes set, with a perfect colourful layout, is of great interest. Each of the eight lessons contains a text, which can be watched or listened to through the DVD and CD provided (with vocabulary in margin), many bilingual cultural notes, and one bilingual vocabulary & grammar section. Lessons deal with both modern and traditional Chinese society.
