The Great Wall

The Great Wall has long been deemed a historical monument and a cultural treasure of China. Throughout history it witnessed chaos and conflicts amidst warring feudal dynasties. Meanwhile, the blending between nomadic and agricultural civilizations inside and outside the Great Wall has produced a number of cultural relics of historic importance. In 1987, the Great Wall was put on the World Cultural Heritage list by UNESCO.
