I and the Temple of Earth by Shi Tiesheng is an invaluable gift from Shi Tiesheng to everyone. With his perseverance and wisdom, Shi Tiesheng spent forty years in a wheelchair, wrote works of millions of words, and became a very accomplished contemporary writer. His influence and contribution are far beyond literature; what he gives readers is not only exquisite and clean text, but also a healthy spirit, deep love and a search for the true meaning of life. He is gone, but his spirit is always there. 'I and the Ditan' is Shi Tiesheng telling his own story, from which we can re-understand Shi Tiesheng and deeply understand Shi Tiesheng.
