Worshiping the Three Sage Kings and Five Virtuous Emperors

For thousands of years, people have the recognition that the Three Sage Kings and Five Virtuous Emperors as the common ancestors of the Chinese nation, and the belief in consanguinity and identity that all Chinese people are descendants of the Fiery Emperor and Yellow Emperor, have been reinforced through the generations. The temple was first founded in the 9th year of Ming Emperor Jiajing's reign (1530). It has a history of over 470 years and become a key national site for the protection of historical relics. It is an imperial temple for performing ceremonies to commemorate the Three Sage Kings and Five Virtuous Emperors, emperors of successive dynasties, accomplished vassals and famed generals.
